Firearms Theory Training

The new Theory Course is now run by Central Regional Tafe. It is run completely online and costs $100 to enroll. The test consists of 40 questions and has a passing rate of 80% (32 out of 40). You will get 3 attempts to pass the test.

Prerequisite: You will need to have or create a USI (Unique Student Identifier) to be able to enroll to anything with TAFE. This can be done at https://www.usi.gov.au/

This will take you to the enrollment page. Central Regional Tafe do have an enrolment guide (see above picture). This can be found here

  1. Once that is complete and the fee paid you should get a welcome to cr tafe email with your student id (starting with 500), your student email and a default password (starting with tafewa)

  2. If you follow their instructions and go to outlook.office365.com to login it is likely to come back with an error that the account does not exist. This is correct as it normally takes around 48 hours to provision.

  5. Okay. Now that you have waited 48 hours and logged in, set up your 2FA etc according to the first time login guide you are nearly there

  6. Now log in to the student portal and you should see something like this

 

 

Look at the bottom where it has: Applicant Portal and Student Portal. You need to click on Student Portal and you will see the following

 

Blackboard is where you need to go for the course. It will redirect you the main Blackboard page and ask you to login. Select the tafe users login and you should automatically be logged in.

 

Once on this page

 

 

Select Courses

 

Then select the Firearms Safety Training Course

 

In the menu Learning Materials is where the actual course content is

 

Assessment is for the Test.

My Grades will show the score you got.

Click the headline Firearm Safety Training Learning Materials and it will bring up an interactive popup with the content.
