SPOT Gen4 satellite GPS tracker lets users check in with family, friends, or managers by sending pre-programmed text messages or emails with their GPS coordinates. The SOS button is for emergencies only. Customised tracking features take your adventure to the next level. Choose motion-activated tracking regardless of the level of service you choose, and set up a vibration sensor to tell your SPOT to send track updates when you are moving and to stop when you do. Send a pre-programmed text message or an email with GPS coordinates to up to 10 contacts with your location. Your waypoint is stored in your SPOT account for later reference. Your stored waypoints can be easily integrated into a Shared View or SPOT Adventures account.

This SPOT Satellite Tracker provides a critical, life-saving line of communication when you travel into remote areas where traditional forms of communication are unavailable. The tracker's SOS function can be used in the unfortunate event of an emergency scenario or other life-threatening situation.

Once activated, the SPOT Tracker acquires its exact coordinates from the GPS network and sends FocusPoint International your GPS coordinates every 2.5 minutes. Once acknowledged, your GPS location is provided every 5 minutes.The Emergency Response Centre notifies the appropriate emergency responders based on your GPS location and personal data and informs your emergency contacts about the receipt of a distress signal.

Tracking

SPOT Gen4 lets you transmit your GPS coordinates every 2.5, 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes. Additionally, the new Unlimited and Extreme tracking plans will send messages until you turn off your SPOT Tracker, so there is no need to reset after 24 hours. Friends, family, and colleagues can view your current and past tracks online. SPOT Gen4 has the following battery life based on the tracking frequencies shown:

• 2.5-minute tracking interval: 20 days; basic service plan and Extreme tracking service plan required
• 5 minute tracking interval: 25 days; basic service plan required
• 10 minute tracking interval: 45 days; basic service plan required
• 30 minute tracking interval: 50 days; basic service plan required

Check-In

This Spot Tracker's Check-in button is a simple feature that transmits a message to reassure your family, friends, or colleagues that all is well or that you have reached your destination. Up to 10 contacts can be set up, and all tracking points are automatically saved to your SPOT account. Your contacts will receive either a text with your message and coordinates or an email featuring a Google Maps link to your location. 

Custom Message:

This button will send a pre-written message to your chosen contacts, with your current GPS location, for a more detailed response or a secondary 'help' message when used with the SPOT Assist service. Help/S.O.V

The SPOT Gen4 tracker's Help function acts as a less serious version of the SOS function. SPOT Help can be used in not-immediately dangerous circumstances and will alert your contacts to your situation.
